Presbyterian Church of the Cross
"Church of the Cross is the place to be if you want to be involved in any phase of worship, education, or service. There is always a need and we are always open to new ideas. That being said, it is also the place to be when your soul needs a quiet place in which to be filled with God's Spirit." - Joe Cline
Christian education doesn't just happen in Sunday School or Worship - it can happen at any time and in any situation, and we attempt to provide a variety of opportunities where learning can occur. Check out our offerings. We invite you to participate in any that interest you.
Sunday School classes for children through adults meet each Sunday morning. By studying Christ's life and parables and the history we find in the Bible and then relating them to what is occuring in our lives and the world, we aim to pass on a living faith. Our goal is to learn what it means to be a Christian and how to practice that in our own lives, living lives of faithful action.
We believe, however, that it is when the worship service is ended that our true worship begins. We are called to worship God with our every action each and every day - at home, at school, at work, at play, and in service to others.
During worship services, we gather to offer our praise and honor to God, confess our sins, receive assurance of God's love and forgiveness, listen to interpretations of God's Word, and give thanks. We acknowledge God's presence in the world and in our lives, and are transformed, renewed, and equipped for God's service in the world.
My child, learn what I teach you and never forget what I tell you to do. Listen to what is wise and try to understand it. Yes, beg for knowledge; plead for insight. Look for it as hard as you would for silver or some hidden treasure. If you do, you will know what it means to revere the Lord and you will succeed in learning about God.
(Proverbs 2 : 1–5)
